Job Description
The Visit Facilitator plays a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and their non-custodial parents during supervised visits. The facilitator observes and monitors interactions, ensuring the safety and well-being of the child, and documents the visit. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, professional, and able to handle sensitive family situations with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Visits
- Facilitate and supervise visits between children and non-custodial parents, ensuring a safe and neutral environment.
- Monitor interactions to ensure they are appropriate and positive.
- Intervene if necessary to address safety concerns or inappropriate behavior.
- Communication and Support:
- Communicate with placement and parents regarding visit protocols and expectations.
- Provide support and guidance to parents to promote positive interactions with their children.
- Collaborate with case managers, social workers, and other professionals as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies and procedures and legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records following agency policies and professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in regular supervision.
- Must attend monthly training to maintain skills and stay updated with industry practices.
- Professional Development:
- Stay informed about best practices in family support and parenting education.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain professional boundaries.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong observational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in potentially challenging situations.
- Understanding of family dynamics and child development.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be 21+
